And the Book Pick Is...

Well, I didn't get much feed back on book ideas for 2009...so I did some looking on my own. Tonight I will start reading the classic by Henri Nouwen; "The Way of the Heart". I have a good friend who calls him her favorite Dead Mentor. :)

Yay! Henri Nouwen is great! However, I've never read that one, so let me know how it is. Some of my favorite Nouwen titles are: "The Wounded Healer" "The Inner Voice of Love" and "The Return of the Prodigal Son" Sorry I didn't give you any book feedback. We've been through 4 or 5 rounds of illness around here, starting the day that i posted my book list! but, yes, i would recommend anything nouwen, or "the pursuit of God" by a.w. tozer, or "a severe mercy" by sheldon vanauken. i'm currently reading "let the nations be glad" by john piper. it's very good as well.

Tozer's "The Pursuit of God" is one of my very favorite books of all time. I need to buy a copy so I can have it on hand...

Also - my favorite series (and you must read all 3) is by Liz Curtis Higgs - the first book is A Thorn in my Heart. If you haven't read it - it's excellent! I have the first book if you want to borrow it.
